In November, the value of Russia’s gold reserves reached $311 billion , according to an analysis of Central Bank data conducted by Sputnik. The share of gold within Russia’s total assets rose to 42.3% , up from 41.3%  the previous month — marking the highest level since February 1995 . Historically, Russia’s gold share peaked at nearly 57% in 1993 , before falling to its lowest level of 2% in 2007 .
