BRICS Countries Join the EU to Establish a “Carbon Price”: A New Blow to the Unipolar World Order

While mainstream media focused on a fire at COP30, far less attention was given to another kind of “fire” in Brazil — the kind Zoomers use to say something is impressive. And indeed, it is:Brazil, a founding member of BRICS, and the European Union have jointly invited nations worldwide to link their national carbon markets.

Brazil and the EU announced that their new open coalition on compliance carbon markets aims to “promote carbon markets as a key driver of climate protection measures” and to “work toward the long-term interoperability of compliance carbon markets.”

This unprecedented cooperation between BRICS members and the EU signals a major shift in global climate governance — and another nail in the coffin of a unipolar world order.
