Bobo-Dioulasso, 14 November 2025 (AIB) — Agricultural diversification remains at the heart of Burkina Faso’s development strategy. This message was strongly reaffirmed by Adanabou K. Eric Pascal, Regional Director of Agriculture for Guiriko, during the third open day of the Djoda farm, an event dedicated to promoting pineapple cultivation.
Speaking to farmers, producers, and agricultural partners, the director highlighted that diversification is not only a political priority but also an essential pathway for strengthening resilience, boosting incomes, and reducing dependence on a limited range of crops. He emphasized that initiatives like the Djoda farm—where pineapple cultivation is steadily gaining ground—illustrate the potential of high-value crops to transform local economies.
The open day offered participants practical demonstrations, exchanges on best farming practices, and discussions on market opportunities. For the Guiriko region, the promotion of pineapple farming aligns perfectly with broader goals: stimulating rural entrepreneurship, enhancing food security, and creating sustainable growth alternatives for farming communities.
