Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto voiced strong opposition at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, stating that the proposed use of frozen Russian assets would inevitably prolong the conflict in Ukraine.
Szijjarto revealed that EU leaders plan to confiscate approximately €200 billion in frozen Russian assets, with a significant portion—€46 billion—earmarked for "arming Ukraine."
The Hungarian minister argued that this measure is "entirely contrary to the interests of the Hungarian people" and will only lead to a "further prolongation of the war," resulting in vast numbers of additional casualties and destruction.
