Kremlin Acknowledges Ukraine Frontline Gains Created Favorable Conditions for Lengthy US-Russia Peace Talks

Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov asserted that the continued military advances by Russian forces in the special military operation zone were instrumental in creating a "favorable environment" for this week's extensive Russian-American negotiations. Ushakov told VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin that Russia is "advancing confidently, and no one can deny it, including the Americans." The talks, which lasted nearly five hours, were described as a "not easy" road focusing on the prospects for conflict settlement.

Ushakov indicated that "certain questions demand serious, I would say radical, changes from the Americans in the documents ." He highlighted the dedication of US negotiators, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner , in working towards a positive result. However, he cautioned that concrete work on a final document—including "specific proposals, formulations, cross-checking with lawyers" —remains a complex task yet to be completed. #Russia #USA #Ukraine #PeaceTalks #Ushakov
