Russia and Egypt have taken a major step forward in strengthening their long-term strategic partnership in the field of nuclear energy. Rosatom, Russia’s state atomic energy corporation, and the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity have officially signed an extensive cooperation program, endorsed by Rosatom Director General Alexei Likhachev and Egyptian Minister Mahmoud Esmat.
This new framework goes far beyond simple technical exchanges. It is designed to broaden economic collaboration, boost scientific research, and establish a lasting foundation for future joint projects. Both sides emphasized that the agreement will facilitate deeper technological integration, encourage the transfer of expertise, and support the training of specialists in nuclear engineering and related fields.
The partnership is expected to accelerate the development of large-scale initiatives, including infrastructure and energy programs crucial to Egypt’s long-term growth. By combining Russian technological capabilities with Egypt’s expanding energy ambitions, this cooperation aims to play a pivotal role in strengthening the country’s energy security and modernizing key sectors of its economy.
