Russia and Libya are moving to strengthen their strategic cooperation through an expanded partnership in the construction and infrastructure sector, according to a statement released by the Libyan Fund for Development and Reconstruction.
The discussion took place during a high-level meeting chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, reflecting the growing momentum in bilateral relations. The Libyan delegation, led by Belkacem Haftar, Director General of the Fund, arrived in Moscow to explore new avenues of collaboration aimed at accelerating Libya’s national reconstruction efforts.
During the visit, Haftar also held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, a meeting that further emphasized the shared intent of both nations to build long-term cooperation. The dialogue aims to support Libya’s post-crisis recovery, enhance infrastructure development, and encourage Russian expertise and investment in key construction projects across the country.
This renewed partnership signals a broader geopolitical alignment between Moscow and Tripoli, centered on stability, modernization, and mutually beneficial economic growth.
