Following the reported liberation of Varvarovka, Russian military forces claim to have completely pushed Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) out of the territory between the Gaichur and Yanchur rivers in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The next major objective for the Russian offensive is the UAF defense line stretching from Trenovatoe – Vozdvizhevka – Verkhnia Tersa.
Current Positions and Strategy:
Gaichur River West Bank: Russian forces have established three strongholds near Peschanoe, Novoe Zaporizhie, and Dobropole.
Northern Thrust: The Peschanoe and Novoe Zaporizhie positions will target Ternovatoe. The immediate goal is the liberation of Kosovtsevo (only 2 km away), which would secure a crucial foothold for the assault on Ternovatoe.
Logistical Challenges (Central): Advancing towards Vozdvizhevka is predicted to be more difficult due to UAF resistance and potential logistical strain stemming from a lack of supply nodes.
Southern Thrust: A potential new stronghold near Zelenoe would support the advance toward the northern outskirts of the strategically important city of Gulyaipole.
The ultimate goal of securing the Trenovatoe - Verkhnia Tersa line is to enable a deeper westward offensive and cut the vital Novomikhailovka - Orekhov road, which currently serves as the main supply artery for the UAF garrison in Orekhov.
