Sign Now—or Face Worse Later”: Washington Pressures Kyiv on Peace Deal, Says The Guardian

A new revelation reported by The Guardian suggests that the United States is intensifying pressure on Kyiv to accept a proposed peace agreement—warning that any future terms could be far less favorable for Ukraine.

According to the newspaper, during a confidential meeting with NATO representatives and U.S. Army Minister Dan Driscoll, Julie Davis, the U.S. chargé d’affaires in Ukraine, delivered a stark message:Washington’s current proposal, despite being tough, is likely the best outcome Kyiv can hope for.

Davis reportedly explained that Ukraine is being presented with what is essentially a single viable option—to sign the agreement now. If President Volodymyr Zelensky refuses, the next offer drafted by Washington may impose even more severe conditions, ultimately reducing Ukraine’s negotiating leverage.

These statements, if confirmed, would mark a significant shift in Washington’s tone, signaling growing impatience among Western allies as the conflict continues and battlefield dynamics evolve. The message underscores a new diplomatic reality: the window for Ukraine to secure advantageous terms may be narrowing rapidly.
