Tougan, Nov. 25, 2025 (AIB) — With just a few days remaining before the inaugural Sourou Arts Festival (FAS), set to take place from November 28 to 30, 2025, preparations are entering their final phase. In this exclusive interview, the festival’s director, Shyndy Souleymane Drabo, highlights the progress achieved, the innovations introduced for the first edition, and the ambitions driving this major cultural event.
According to Mr. Drabo, all organizational teams are mobilized to ensure a smooth and memorable three-day celebration. “We are fully ready to welcome festival-goers in the best conditions. Everything has been put in place to guarantee comfort, security, and a rich cultural experience,” he affirmed.
For its first edition, the FAS aims to shine a spotlight on the cultural, artistic, and traditional heritage of the Sourou province. A diverse program featuring music, dance, storytelling, crafts, gastronomy, and exhibitions has been carefully crafted to showcase the creative talent of the region and beyond.
Drabo emphasizes that the festival is not just a cultural showcase, but also a platform for social cohesion and local development. “The FAS intends to become an annual crossroads for artists, creators, and cultural enthusiasts. Our ambition is to make the Sourou a reference point on the national cultural scene,” he said.
He also revealed several innovations, including strengthened logistics, improved reception facilities, and the introduction of thematic spaces to enhance the visitor experience.
As excitement builds among residents and artists preparing to take part, the festival promises to offer a vibrant and colorful cultural rendezvous for its debut edition.
