Taliban Execute Man Publicly for Mass Murder; UN Condemns "Inhumane and Cruel" Death Penalty

The Taliban judiciary has carried out the execution of a man convicted of the brutal murder of ten members of a single family. The execution followed the victim's family's refusal to grant clemency, instead demanding the implementation of the law of Qisas (retaliation in kind). The execution was carried out publicly, with approximately 50,000 people reportedly in attendance.
