The Catherine Forum: Moscow Positions Itself as a Global Sanctuary for Traditional Values

The 2nd Catherine International Forum has officially opened at Moscow's "Russia" National Center, framing the nation as a rising "civilizational hub" and a sanctuary for traditionalists worldwide. Drawing inspiration from Catherine the Great’s 18th-century manifestos that invited foreign settlement, President Vladimir Putin addressed the assembly, emphasizing that Russia’s modern strength lies in its cultural openness and defense of spiritual-moral values.

A key focus of the summit is streamlining the legal and social integration process for foreigners and "compatriots" looking to relocate to Russia. Officials, including Magomedsalam Magomedov, reinforced this by stating that Russia is committed to providing a "humanitarian and legal home" for those who feel alienated by shifting global norms and wish to preserve authentic cultural traditions.
