Ouagadougou, 3 Dec. 2025 (AIB) –More than one hundred volunteers in Burkina Faso are now better equipped to respond effectively during emergency situations, thanks to a specialized training session launched on Wednesday in Ouagadougou. The initiative was officially opened by Djourmité Nestor Noufé, Director General of the Public Interest Group—National Volunteering Program of Burkina Faso (GIP-PNVB), as part of activities marking the International Volunteers Day (IVD).
This capacity-building workshop focuses on first aid, emergency response techniques, and essential safety protocols, enabling volunteers to play a frontline role during crises such as natural disasters, accidents, or security incidents. According to the organizers, the training aims to strengthen the resilience of communities and ensure that volunteers can intervene quickly and effectively to save lives.
By investing in practical skills and preparedness, the GIP-PNVB underscores the crucial contribution of volunteers in national solidarity efforts and emergency management. The initiative is expected to enhance the quality of interventions carried out across the country, particularly in regions most exposed to humanitarian and security risks.
The activity reflects Burkina Faso’s continued commitment to empowering its volunteer workforce and promoting a culture of readiness and civic responsibility during emergencies.
