Turkey Close to a Major Breakthrough on Its Return to the F-35 Program

The U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, Tom Barrack, has announced that Ankara is on the verge of removing the main obstacle preventing its return to the F-35 fighter jet program.

According to Ambassador Barrack, Turkey has resolved the “operability” issues linked to its Russian-made S-400 missile system, as the missiles are currently not being used — although their mere possession continues to concern Washington.

He stated that he expects the matter to be resolved within four to six months and confirmed that Turkey is close to abandoning the Russian system altogether.
